About Alice

Our founder, Alice R. McAdams, holds a Bachelor of Arts in French and is a member in good standing with the Appraisers Association of America. She provides antique appraisals throughout New York City and the Tri-state area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Stair & Company

Establishing her own company in 1977, she has been working with the finest paintings, antiques, and decorative arts for even longer, dating back to her days working for Stair & Company. As a director of Stair & Company, Alice oversaw the acquisition and sale of the company's world-renowned collection of European and contemporary paintings and antiques until the company shut its doors one last time.

Alexander Gallery

The next stop for Alice was Alexander Gallery, a company that specializes in artwork spanning genres including 19th Century American, European, Old Master paintings, and decorative arts. Over the years, the firm eventually expanded into modern and contemporary art.

During her career, Alice has been one of the top salespeople for the Alexander Gallery and has dealt with many clients and objects around the world. Her years of experience in the fine art and antique trade has given her unique skills, which have often been called upon by art galleries and auction houses.

Alice R. McAdams

Alice R. McAdams is a member in good standing of the Appraisers Association of America and all of her appraisals are compliant with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). She and has been working with the finest paintings, antiques and decorative arts since she began working for Stair & Company. As a Director of Stair & Company, Alice oversaw the acquisition and sale of the company’s world renowned collection of European and Contemporary paintings and antiques until it closed.

After which Alice joined the Alexander Gallery, specialists in 19th Century American, European, Old Master Paintings and decorative arts. With the changing taste in the art market, they are now also dealing in Modern and Contemporary Art.

Alice is one of their top sales people dealing with clients from all around the world and continues working with art and antiques from all parts of the globe. Her years of experience in the fine art and antiques trade has given her the wealth of information and knowledge and expertise only attained through “being in the business.”
